SED Participates in CII-Governor Dialogue on Chandigarh Vision@2047

Spray Engineering Devices Limited (SED), a leader in energy efficiency and sustainable biomass utilization, participated in a high-level industry delegation led by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) that met with Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh, on Friday, 20 June 2025 at Punjab Raj Bhawan. The delegation also held a discussion with Mr. Nishant Kumar Yadav, Secretary Industries, Chandigarh Administration.

The discussions centred around positioning Chandigarh as a model city for sustainable and innovation-led development. CII presented two flagship vision documents—Chandigarh Vision@2047 and the Growth Agenda for Chandigarh – outlining actionable recommendations to elevate Chandigarh as a climate-resilient, digitally integrated, and economically vibrant urban hub. Key priorities included boosting air connectivity to reduce regional dependency on Delhi, developing a world-class convention centre to support business tourism, and promoting green mobility, smart infrastructure, and Industry 4.0-led manufacturing. The documents also emphasised regional integration through the proposed Greater Chandigarh Region framework, aimed at synchronising industrial, environmental, and infrastructure goals across Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, and neighbouring areas.

Aligned with this vision, Mr. Vivek Verma, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh UT (2025–26) and Managing Director, Spray Engineering Devices Ltd., shared insights into SED’s innovations in boilerless jaggery production systems that support rural entrepreneurship and reduce carbon emissions; biomass-to-ethanol conversion that decreases dependency on fossil fuels and food grains; and proprietary MVR based Low Temperature Evaporation (LTE®) systems that enable efficient thermal heat recycling for 100% clean water recovery from wastewater of pharmaceutical, textile, dyeing, automobiles and chemical sectors. This solution also promotes circular economy practices by facilitating resource recovery and reuse within industrial units.

The vision documents presented by CII reflect a deep and timely commitment to inclusive, future-ready growth. At SED, we believe sustainability and decentralised innovation must go hand in hand to ensure climate-resilient industrialisation, especially in cities like Chandigarh that are uniquely positioned to lead by example.” said Mr. Vivek Verma, Managing Director, SED.

SEDL Participates in CII-Governor Dialogue on Chandigarh Vision@2047

The CII Vision@2047’s focus on green technology, renewable energy, and Industry 4.0 strongly resonates with SED’s mission. Mr. Verma reiterated the importance of scaling up indigenous solutions and fostering public-private collaboration for industrial sustainability across the Greater Chandigarh Region.

Discussions also emphasised infrastructure development, improved air connectivity, and the need for a world-class convention centre to support Chandigarh’s evolution into a global economic and innovation hub. SED expressed full support for these initiatives and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Chandigarh’s green transformation through its scalable, localised technologies.
